American Indian Beadwork

Native American Indian beadwork is exemplified in Bandolier bags, Indian pipe bags, moccasins, war shirts, belts and other clothing apparatus, with some of the finest examples being from the Sioux Indians. Native American beadwork is almost entirely for decorative or aesthetic purposes. Over a century of refining and perfecting this beautiful and colorful art form presents to us the intricate beadwork creations which we see today in museums and books. A simple buckskin item is transformed into a true work of art and beauty with the addition of a beadwork design.

Our search for links about Native American Indian beadwork has uncovered some exquisite examples of many Indian beaded works including a very nice exhibit from the Oneida Indian Nation and a collection of images of bandolier bags. History, beading methods, including Wampum style, and examples from different tribes of Native American Indians can be found within our links.

IndianVillage.com is striving to find as many online resources about Native American Indians as we can. We welcome your non-commercial link suggestions and we will continue to add new links as we discover them. If you know of any good non-commercial links let us know!
